NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

AMADOR LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION

Notice is hereby given that the Local Agency Formation Committee will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible, on Thursday September 19, 2024, in the Board of Supervisors Chambers, County Administration Center, 810 Court Street, Jackson, CA, to consider the following:

Lockwood Fire Protection District (LFPD) zero Sphere of Influence (SOI), LAFCO Project #344; Amador Fire Protection District (AFPD) amended Sphere of Influence (SOI) LAFCO Project #343, and LFPD Reorganization and Dissolution, LAFCO Project #341 (which includes any materials related to former LAFCO Project #342), to reorganize AFPD to extend fire protection and emergency medical services into LFPD’s jurisdiction and to dissolve LFPD, with transfer of assets & services to AFPD as successor agency. CEQA: Categorically Exempt, Class 20, change of organization with no change in the area where previous powers were exercised.

THIS NOTICE IS IN LIEU OF MAILED NOTICE TO REGISTERED VOTERS AND LANDOWNERS, PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 56157(h).

Meeting materials will be available five days before the meeting, and may also be posted on the LAFCO website: www.co.amador.ca.us/lafco. Any person may submit oral or written comments to LAFCO. Written comments received 48 hours before the meeting will be distributed to the commission.
